When the last sunbeam left the golden spires of The Teikodian Empire, Maruchi began their final trainee assessment. They believed they were training to protect the grandeur of the capital, a future as bright as their raspberry-pink visor. But during the patrol, they took a wrong turn into the palace’s lower levels. Curious, they activated the visor’s deep-scan function on a reinforced door. They didn’t see storage; they saw cold, metallic laboratories and figures huddled in cells, a world of shadows hidden beneath the sunlit marble. The Empire wasn’t what it seemed. Their training continues, but their purpose has changed. They are no longer learning to protect the palace, but to one day escape it.
