The only chef at The Dojo with a lifetime ban on sharpening their own tools, Buzaemon insists their adventure sword is purely for sentimental reasons. Yet, every meal service suggests otherwise. Onions are diced with a series of frantic parries. Dough is tenderized with the pommel. Once, they tried to flambé a dish and instinctually drew their blade to “fight the flames.” The career change from adventurer to cook was abrupt, prompted by a single, distant glimpse of Inparusu’s tortured energy. Buzaemon saw that profound darkness and decided life was far too serious to not have good ramen. Master Chimpo has learned to just accept the occasional scorch mark on the kitchen ceiling; the food, against all odds, is usually worth it.
