Chimper #1444
Chuushirou did not seek out Aoi for their visions of tomorrow. They were sent to watch them. A shadow from a clandestine order, their mission was to gauge the futuristโs threat, and their cover was perfect: a goofy, ambitious culinary trainee, perpetually squinting as if judging the quality of the air. The sushi they wear was meant to be a disarming absurdity. But traveling alongside Aoi from the bustling lower docks of Waterfall City to distant inns, something shifted. The notes they took on Aoi's technology became notes on spice blends. Their reports back grew sparse, while their recipe book filled with diagrams of fish and herbs. Aoi never once questioned the charade. These days, Chuushirou still squints with suspicion, but it is aimed at merchants selling day-old fish, not at potential assassins in a crowd.
