Nobua had no intention of becoming an explorer. They were simply trying to return a teacup Toto had left behind at a noodle stand. But when they found the retired master, Toto mistook their earnestness for ambition and handed them a “sacred scroll”—a grocery list scribbled on a napkin. Too polite to correct the legend, Nobua set off through the bamboo-lined streets of The Great Panda City. Their search for “sun-blushed peaches” led them to accidentally interrupt a secret Panda Council briefing. A souvenir ninja mask, worn against the biting high-altitude wind, completed the image of a clandestine operative. Now, Nobua just follows Toto around, the teacup still rattling in their backpack, their gleeful eyes peering over a mask that signifies a competence they never asked for but keep fumbling into.
