Chimper #1871
Every morning, Okie gathers bamboo by the river at the base of Waterfall City, long before the upper plazas awaken. They were once a celebrated artisan, their workshop sought after for its delicate carvings and perfectly balanced fishing rods. That life ended when they were falsely accused of smuggling secrets using coded patterns in their bamboo weavings. Though the charges were dropped, the stain of suspicion remained. They were quietly pushed to the city's outskirts. Rather than abandon their craft, Okie embraced their new life, donning a mask and visor to obscure their identity from those who had wronged them. They traded creating art for the elite for mending the boats and nets of the chimps and frogs who lived downstream, finding more honor in simple utility than in the fickle praise of the powerful.
