They would stand on the high plaza overlooking the falls, their fine suit immaculate but for a smudge of jam on their cheek and the ridiculous fish bait dangling from their hat. Every coin in their coffers was earned through ruthless negotiation, every partnership a cold calculation that left them richer and more isolated. Their carved cane is a memento from a deal that cost them more than just profit. One day, a traveler told them a story of Tamago, the Shell Warrior, a soul so pure it never needed to leave its primordial egg. This became Yuusuke’s obsession. They now pour their fortune into a quiet vigil, waiting alongside the unhatched warrior, believing that when the shell finally breaks, something new and unspoiled can enter a world they helped tarnish.
