Chimper #2763
One grin too wide for the scorched plateaus, two streaks of war paint applied with a cheerful hum, and three different stories about how they got their katana. The older warriors who patrol the foggy valleys dismiss Kiyora as a fool. They see the casual clothes and the wild, Giga Chimped eyes and predict they won't last a season. 'That grin will fade when the ghost-dragons find them,' one veteran says. But the scavengers who pick through the skeletal remains of ancient beasts tell a different tale. They say Kiyora's cheerfulness is a kind of armor, a defiance against the howling winds and constant rain. They once saw them polish their blade while using its reflection to make sure their paint was perfectly symmetrical, unfazed by the storm.
