Chimper #2792
In Waterfall City, the roar of the falls is meant to soothe the soul, to wash away the troubles of the world. Hitotoki seems to embrace this, a picture of calm in their relaxed tee and shades. But every morning, before the fishing boats have even left the docks, they carefully apply fresh stripes of war paint across their face. Their childhood friend, Momiji, remembers a time before the paint and the heavy Mega Sabre that never leaves their back. They once asked why Hitotoki lived a life of such contradiction. Hitotoki simply pointed to the churning mist at the bottom of the falls. 'Some things aren't washed away,' they said. 'They're just hidden.' Momiji never pressed again, but always wonders what Hitotoki saw in that water, and what they expect to one day climb out of it.
