Chimper #2811
The fishing rod was carved from a single stalk of river bamboo, unadorned and weathered by patient hands. Legend holds that within the gilded heart of The Teikodian Empire, where even the fish have scales of gold, this simple rod performs a task greater than any army. Juunosuke does not cast for sustenance or sport. They are an explorer of the imperial soul. It is said that when they dip their line into the palace reflection pools, they do not pull up shimmering koi, but rather the truths the empire has tried to drown: a forgotten oath of a noble, the silent tear of a guard, the lost hopes of an artist whose murals were painted over with gold. They wear a mask not of shame, but of service, for the fisher is unimportant; only the act of remembering matters.
