Chimper #3489
When the monsoon rains threatened to wash the lower market away, Meiren was certain their little stall of polished river-stones was doomed. That was before a silent, hulking frog fisher wedged their own body against the stall, holding it fast against the current. For payment, the fisher demanded not coin, but an equal partnership. Meiren, a gentle merchant who wore a kitsune mask to appear more mysterious, agreed with a stunned look they haven't shaken since. This unlikely duo is now a fixture in Waterfall City. The frog finds the most beautiful, luminous stones from the deepest parts of the river, and Meiren carves and sells them, their wide-eyed grin always visible beneath the mask, perpetually in awe of their good fortune and their gruff, steadfast partner.
