Nakiko

The head of Nakiko’s cane is carved from the petrified root of a sunglow tree, warm to the touch even in a blizzard. Most chimps in The Crystal Highlands of Armaria see Nakiko as a curiosity: a merchant in fine clothes, always sipping strawberry milk, who seems far too gentle for the harsh landscape. Yuki saw something else. They first met during a whiteout near a wizard's fortress, with Nakiko calmly using the cane to test the icy ground. The famed beast slayer expected panic. Instead, Nakiko offered them a share of their rations and a solid business proposition. Since then, their partnership has become local legend. Yuki handles the monsters and the mountain passes; Nakiko handles the contracts with prickly rock wizards and opportunistic alchemists.
