Chimper #3813
Shunta never speaks of the cold lands their white fur recalls. To the joyful locals of The Heart of the Forest, they are simply a welcome curiosity—a charming wanderer who shares tales of distant cities but never their own origin. They join the dances and praise the local food, but their combat pole is never more than an arm's length away. Locals assume the strange, notched carvings along its length are just decoration. But after the last songs have faded, Shunta slips into the wilder edges of the woods. There, they press the pole against the bark of ancient trees, measuring, listening for something deep within the wood. What forgotten path are they trying to reopen?
