Chimper #3936
Down by the fishing docks of Waterfall City, they have a saying: 'Never trust a chef whose apron is cleaner than their conscience.' Ask the boatwrights about Satoshi, and they will point to the war paint streaked across their face. 'That's from the river skirmishes,' one might say. 'Saw them hold the lower bridge with nothing but a sharpened boat hook.' But then you talk to the children who line up for Satoshi's caramelized apple sticks. They giggle and swear the paint is just to scare away the gulls. The older merchants up in the main plaza have a different tale. They whisper that Satoshi was once a warlord's cook, forced to wear the mark of their legion. Satoshi just keeps smiling that sideways smile, wiping sticky sugar off their apron. When a new face asks about the paint, they simply offer them a fresh apple and say, 'It keeps the flavors sharp.'
