Ibara

The Crystal Highlands of Armaria value intellect above all else, where status is measured by the complexity of one’s magical proofs. Ibara, however, measures success by the number of guards they can make laugh during a shift change. Their presence is a constant source of bewilderment and frustration for their chief rival, Katsuyoshirou, who spends nights poring over ancient texts while Ibara is out charming kitchen staff for extra snacks. During a recent trial to animate a crystal golem, Katsuyoshirou performed a flawless, textbook-perfect incantation that yielded no result. Ibara, pulling their old head warmer down over their ears, simply asked the golem nicely if it would mind standing up. It did. Katsuyoshirou still insists it was a fluke.
