The sweet, electric smell of crystallizing sugar always precedes Sametarou. It’s a scent that masks the truth: they are a ruthless competitor. Found half-frozen in a snowdrift by the warrior Yuki, they were brought to The Crystal Highlands of Armaria to live a peaceful life. But peace was boring. Then another confectioner set up shop, one whose techniques were as precise and brilliant as the local monoliths. The rivalry was instant and all-consuming. While their rival openly practiced magical gastronomy, Sametarou used the stealth of a night-walker to forage for impossible ingredients in the moon-dusted highlands. They trade barbs and steal customers, but when a rare crystal blight threatened their rival's supply, Sametarou spent a week in the dark to find an alternative. A victory without a worthy opponent is just an empty kitchen.
