Chimper #429
"Go on and play, the lower plaza is safe. Tayuna is watching the rock stairs today." That’s what the parents tell their children in Waterfall City, and it’s always true. Tayuna arrived years ago, a survivor with a fresh scar and gear made for harsher places. They never spoke of where they came from, and no one asked. Instead, they started helping. Mending nets for the fishers, carrying baskets up the slick stairs for the elders. Slowly, the tactical flack became less a sign of war and more a shield against the waterfall’s constant spray. They became the city’s unofficial guardian not by fighting, but by simply being there, a steady presence watching over the community they chose as their own.
