Chimper #4329
Hayate polished the perfectly flat, sunset-colored rock on their tunic, interrupting their rival’s lecture on crystalline resonance. They’d been tasked with charting unstable monoliths in The Crystal Highlands of Armaria, but Hayate was more interested in finding the ultimate skipping stone. Their rival, a far more serious apprentice wizard, had spent a week poring over ancient maps. Hayate had simply followed a giggling stream. When their rival finally located the first monolith, they found Hayate already there, trying to teach a badger to juggle pebbles. The nickname started as an insult, screamed across a canyon after Hayate accidentally discovered a hidden gem cave while looking for a good echo spot. But it stuck, mostly because Hayate agreed with it.
