Chimper #4575
The Teikodian Empire prided itself on grand political theatre and walls painted by great artists. Yayumi, however, was far more concerned with the unofficial census of the city's stray cats. Clad in a Meow Cap they claimed was for "blending in," they meticulously mapped the winding back alleys, their carved cane tapping out a rhythm on the marble. Their only rival in this vital work was Sazaemon, who insisted on a different classification system for tabbies. They would stumble upon each other in forgotten plazas, launching into intensely whispered debates, Yayumi's face a perfect portrait of anxious focus. Sazaemon was a pest, but their competition pushed Yayumi into corners of the gilded capital they'd otherwise be too uneasy to explore.
