Chimper #5206
Obi's azure blue visor isn't for keeping the sun out; it's for seeing through the spray. Specifically, for seeing Kawa's every move. Every year in Waterfall City, they hold the Great Ascent, a race from the bottom of the falls to the top temple. And every year, Kawa, who moves like the water itself, wins. Obi, grounded and determined, bought the visor to chart a better path. Last year, it nearly worked. They found a new route behind a curtain of mist, gaining the lead for the first time. But Kawa, pushed to their limit, found an even riskier, faster way. At the top, panting on the pale stone, Kawa didn't gloat. They simply shared their water flask. Neither needs to say it: the race isn't about winning, but about forcing the other to become someone better.
