Ezume

Who decided an ancient, wisdom-soaked head warmer should belong to the clumsiest trainee in Waterfall City? That is the question Ezume’s sibling, Shibuki, silently asks every time they have to untangle them from a fishing net. Ezume insists the old warmer whispers secrets of the ancients. Yesterday, it apparently whispered a ‘shortcut’ up the main rock stairs that involved using two slippery fish as climbing grips. The resulting cascade of chimper, fish, and buckets is already a local legend. Shibuki found them at the bottom, soaked but grinning, their KO'd eyes sparkling with optimism. "The ancestors said it was a learning experience!" Ezume chirped, completely undeterred. Shibuki just sighed and started picking up the fish.
