Yahachirou

When the fire spirit attacked their ship, Yahachirou was just a deckhand who polished brass. The captain, a figure of immense calm, was lost in the initial blast of heat. As the vessel splintered, something inside Yahachirou broke open—a raw, searing power that drove the entity back but also consumed what was left of the ship. They washed ashore with nothing but the scorched captain's hat, which they pulled from the water. Now they wander Waterfall City, an unwilling wielder of flame. The hat is their penance, a pristine symbol of a leader's composure they feel they can never earn. They flinch at the crackle of a cooking fire, fearing the return of Inferuno might reignite the inferno they carry on their back.
