Then a Soul Chaser broke through the city's wards, its black-and-white flame aimed at the archives. With no warriors near, Samitarou grabbed the only thing at hand: a thick stalk of bamboo. They fought not with skill, but with a librarian's precision, using battlefield diagrams memorized from dusty texts to strike at weak points. They saved the records, but the quiet archivist was lost in the fight.
