Chimper #11
When the great fish statue was finally unveiled in the plaza of Waterfall City, Konoka was watching the clouds drift over the falls. They were always watching something else, lost in a world behind their starry eyes, a ragged outcast in a city of purpose. Their combat pole was more for leaning on than fighting with. For this, they were pushed down the stone stairs to the sprawling huts at the bottom, where the roar of the water drowned out most everything. It was there they first heard tales of Takeo, an exile who built a community from the forgotten. The story gave their aimless daydreams a direction. They began training with their pole, defending the other outcasts from river predators and coin-hungry thugs. They still slurp ramen and stare at the sky, but now they see a different future in the clouds.
