Chimper #1395
The fine mist that blankets Waterfall City clings to Munemi’s ragged jumper, a constant dampness that smells of river moss and fish. Most who remember the old days still feel a different kind of chill when they see Munemi near Poteto. Their rivalry was once the talk of the lower docks, two blurs of motion clashing near the great fish statue until one was tossed into the rushing water below. But the fighting just… stopped. These days, they share a fishing line off the stone plaza, their combat poles propped uselessly against the railing. Munemi will sometimes nudge Poteto’s line with their foot, a playful act that holds just enough of the old challenge to make onlookers nervous. Poteto just grunts and readjusts the bait. No one knows what truce was struck, or why. Are they friends? Allies? Or just two old enemies who finally found a bigger fight in the river itself?
