Irodori

The fishers down by the docks of Waterfall City swear Irodori was once the most serious scholar imaginable, a chimp whose personality was as dry as a sun-bleached scroll. Before the accident—a mishap with an ancient, volatile artifact—they would spend days measuring the flow rate of the falls. After, they were carried to the renegade genius Mekanikku for repairs. The defector, short on proper parts, had to improvise. Irodori awoke with a recon headset fused to their scalp and a permanent look of mild astonishment. The stern academic was gone, replaced by a playful eccentric who uses their carved cane to conduct the croaking frogs and claims the headset picks up cosmic punchlines. Their wisdom is still there, just buried under terrible puns.
