Chimper #94
The Campfire Chronicler, they call them now. But at The Dojo, Kimitarou was first known as the quiet observer. They earned their white bandana not with a flashy victory, but by using their combat pole to unbalance an opponent who was too busy showing off. They would spend hours just watching, their glasses reflecting the sparring matches. On their first long journey, that pole became an extension of themself, testing treacherous ground and fending off shadow creatures in the marshes. It was on that same trip, sharing a fire with nervous merchants, that they whittled a second, smaller stick. As they roasted a marshmallow, they told a storyโa simple tale from the Dojo. In the flickering light, they saw fear replaced by focus. Kimitarou learned then that a full stomach and a good story are armor for the heart.
