Chimper #145
The only chimper in Waterfall City with the audacity to challenge Katana earned the title entirely by mistake. Hamana, a wanderer with more optimism than sense, saw the famed warrior meditating by the great falls and mistook their deep focus for a display of arrogance. They declared a rivalry on the spot. Katana, lost in thought, simply bowed their head to acknowledge a passing frog, a gesture Hamana interpreted as the solemn acceptance of a lifelong duel. Ever since, their days have been a series of one-sided competitions. Hamana once spent a week trying to slice the waterfall in two because they thought they saw Katana do it; it was just a rainbow. Their wrinkled mouth isn't from ageโit's from concentrating so hard on beating a rival who still isn't sure what their name is.
