The fishers down by the river will tell you Sawayo is the most mysterious chimp in Waterfall City, a silent wanderer who appears and vanishes with the mist. The truth is far less dramatic and infinitely more damp. Sawayo is simply trying very hard to look cool, a goal constantly thwarted by the city’s wet stone stairs and their own spectacular clumsiness. The shades they wear are not for the sun; they just look neat. The stoic silence isn't profound; they're concentrating on not tripping. Their most legendary disappearance involved accidentally falling into a cargo net of freshly caught tuna. Still, Sawayo remains determined. They practice their dramatic poses every morning, just before slipping on a misplaced fish.
