The Penitent Guide of the Dragon Wastelands once had another name: sibling. It was a title they shared with Magogorou, a bond forged in shadow and broken in fog. During an imperial scouting mission, the phantom of a dead dragon rose from the mists. Gennosuke fled, leaving their sibling to the illusion's mercy. The scream they heard—or perhaps imagined—froze their face into a mask of perpetual shock. Guilt became their new master. These days, they carry lanterns not to hide their path, but to illuminate it for others, a silent offering to the sibling they lost. They walk the valleys, clearing the way through the spectral horrors, hoping the light they offer the lost might one day reach Magogorou.
