Saichiru

Saichiru dodged another branch, their left eye calculating the vector of a falling pinecone with unnerving precision as they sprinted through the trees. It hadn't always been like this. Before the beast attack in the wilder woods, they delivered messages with two normal eyes and a lot less urgency. They were found near death by the mercenary Fuhai, who saw not a victim but a problem with a technological solution. Fuhai brokered a deal, and Saichiru returned to The Heart of the Forest with a new eye of polished metal and humming light. The locals were wary, but Saichiru's smile was the same, the messages just as warm. The apple stick they carry is a reminder of their old life, a piece of simple earth to ground the complex data streaming through their vision.
