Chimper #1975
Denkurou remembers the cold shock of their first delivery in The Great Panda City: a frantic slide down a frozen bamboo stalk that ended in a shower of cherry blossoms right at a council member's feet. The message was delivered, but a reputation was born. The Panda Council guards say Denkurou is a security risk, a grinning phantom with unnerving war paint who treats checkpoints like suggestions. Ask the merchants by the river, and they'll tell you Denkurou is a trickster who once traded a vital scroll for a wind-up toy, only to produce the real scroll moments later from their bizarre headwear. The children, however, insist the paint is magic, a charm that lets them run on the wind between the high-altitude buildings. Denkurou never corrects anyone, offering a different, wilder story each time. They are the city's fastest secret and its most beloved, open joke.
