Chimper #2059
Mirukii is living proof that a failed fishing trip can become a successful career move. They arrived at the training grounds by the great lake dreaming of earning a prestigious bandana, but their sparring sessions usually ended with them tangled in their own feet. One afternoon, tasked with catching dinner for the barracks, they slipped on a mossy rock and emerged from the icy water with a very stubborn salmon latched firmly onto their head. All attempts to remove it failed. Mortified, they awaited jeers and exile. Instead, a senior trainer, stifling a laugh, handed them a scroll. ‘Take this to the west gate,’ they ordered. Mirukii’s journey was clumsy, but the message was received. The salmon, it turned out, was an excellent memory aid for everyone else. The fish is part of the uniform now.
