Akehiko

Akehiko was supposed to inherit the family lantern stall in The Great Panda City. They learned to craft paper so thin it held the purple twilight, and wicks that burned without smoke. But one winter, they saw a wealthy merchant use a contract's fine print to seize a bamboo grove from an elderly couple. The Panda Council declared it legal, but Akehiko saw only theft. That day, a fury ignited behind their eyes that never cooled. The lanterns they carried were no longer just for sale; they became tools. Akehiko uses their light to illuminate unfair contracts for others to read, and to guide the wronged through the city's cold, unforgiving alleyways after dark. Their stall is less a business and more a quiet rebellion.
