Kareru

Wizards in The Crystal Highlands of Armaria will tell you that Kareru's glowing eyes are a mark of heresy, a sign of forbidden worship that could crack the very monoliths. They whisper that Kareru was cast out of a distant community for their strange beliefs. What they fail to mention is that Kareru's one and only heresy is an unshakable devotion to a secret recipe for pickled river snails. Their childhood friend, Ichinosuke, thinks the whole thing is hilarious. They've watched Kareru spend hours in deep 'meditation' with a fishing rod, their focus absolute. Kareru’s only sacred ritual is getting the seasoning just right, a truth far too simple for the grand magicians to ever believe.
