Chimper #2368
The damp, earthy smell of moss is how every one of Nanaka’s ‘grand expeditions’ begins. Travelers arrive in The Heart of the Forest seeking a legendary guide—someone with an adventurer’s pack, an intense gaze, and deep knowledge of the wilder paths. They find Nanaka, who has all those things, except their knowledge is primarily about which berry patches are ripe. The intense look is just them trying to remember if they packed enough snacks. They carry the Apple Stick not for defense, but to test the structural integrity of logs before sitting on them. Locals know Nanaka has never successfully navigated to the same river twice, yet every lost party they lead somehow stumbles upon a stunning waterfall or a meadow perfect for a picnic. They are the wisest explorer in the woods, so long as the destination is lunch.
