Chimper #242
The scent of baking berries and the distant plink of a terribly tuned lute meant Zeroyo was holding class. The grand myth told in The Heart of the Forest is that they arrived as a silent, honor-bound scholar, personally guided by the solemn spirit-guardian Michi to bring discipline to the glade. The locals, however, remember it differently. They remember a newcomer who used their gleaming Bushido mask not for intimidation, but to hide a mouthful of stolen sweet buns. The 'discipline' they taught wasn’t in meditation, but in competitive napping. Their most famous lesson, a masterclass in focus, involved seeing who could balance a spoon on their nose the longest. Zeroyo insists it all builds character. The forest residents just think it's fun.
