Matanosuke

Matanosuke did not earn their fearsome reputation through years of training. They earned it by tripping over a loose bamboo root during a festival. In their flailing attempt to regain balance, they accidentally disarmed two Panda Council guards and knocked a third into a cherry blossom tree. The high-altitude winds whipped their lightweight mesh outfit around them, making the clumsy accident look like a fluid, masterful technique. The story grew with every telling. Soon, all of the Great Panda City was whispering about the stylish warrior with the shocking haircut. Matanosuke, a pragmatist at heart, simply adapted. The shades were acquired to hide their perpetually startled eyes. Their expressive shouts, once yelps of surprise, are now mistaken for battle cries.
