Chimper #2568
The fishers of Waterfall City will tell you that Sachimaine wasn't even trying to catch the Great Fin. They were just sitting on the lower docks, still as a stone, the silly bait on their head bobbing with each deep breath. For weeks, they had simply watched the water, a quiet wanderer lost in thought. Then it happened. Not with a tug on a line, but with a silent, impossible leap. The legendary carp, scales like polished jade, rose from the mist and nudged the bait on Sachimaine's head. It stared at them with an eye as old as the falls, then vanished. Everyone saw. The wanderer hasn't looked anyone in the eye since, their expression frozen in the moment the river made them a legend they never wanted to be.
