Arirei

The one with the fish on their head is a permanent fixture on the lower docks of Waterfall City. Arirei received the oversized lure as a gift from an old frog fisher, who swore it was blessed to attract a legendary koi that only surfaces when sakura petals blanket the river. At first, it was just a charming local tale. But the quest for this fish became a purpose. Arirei learned to read the currents, to balance on slick stones, and to defend their fishing spot with a swirling grace that resembled the falling blossoms they so eagerly awaited. The lure, once just a piece of bait, is now a symbol of their devotion to this place. Arirei never caught the great koi, but they found a home, which was never what they were fishing for.
