Chimper #2806
The fishers who work the lower pools of Waterfall City will tell you Charu’s sakura katana never actually gets wet; it just leaves a trail of phantom blossoms on the river’s surface. They see a dancer, a spirit of the falls. The city’s elite warriors, however, have seen them in a real fight. They whisper that Charu’s speed is unnatural, a blur of cocoa and steel whose power rivals that of the demon Shinpi. They say the shocked expression isn't fear, but the look of a storm about to break. Only one child, who sells polished river stones near the temple, claims to have seen them alone, staring at their own reflection in the blade with that same wide-eyed look, as if startled by what they’ve become.
