Should one ask the smiths of Waterfall City who possesses the deadliest blade, they would not point to a general or a master, but to a trainee. Isaka’s power is a frozen storm, a stillness so absolute it is said to rival the balance held by Asayaka. Yet, they remain a student. The reason has a name: Ren. Where Isaka’s Frost Katana is precision and control, Ren’s fighting style is pure, chaotic instinct. Their weekly duels on the plaza by the great fish statue are a local spectacle. Isaka studies every motion through their monocle, predicting, countering, and forcing a stalemate. Every time, the bout ends in a draw, a perfect equilibrium of ice and fire. Ren laughs, Isaka adjusts their monocle, and the title of graduate remains just out of reach.
