Chimper #2824
If a traveler were to follow the sound of a small, incessant brass bell up the winding rock stairs from the fishing docks, they would find Mitsuha. They were once a quiet, practical bamboo artisan, respected for their skill. Then they accepted one simple courier job for a frog merchant: deliver a “lucky charm.” The charm, a tiny bell, attached itself to their poncho and has refused to come off since. These days, their stoic explorer persona is constantly undermined by a cheerful *jingle-jangle* with every step, scaring away rare creatures and announcing their presence in every situation. The fish bait on their head was a failed attempt to bribe a river spirit to remove the curse. The spirit just laughed. Mitsuha now carries bamboo not just for crafting, but for futile attempts at muffling the sound.
