Chimper #30
How can someone walk through a downpour and never seem to get wet? The question follows Jinnosuke through The Heart of the Forest, where a personal drizzle clings to their poncho even on the sunniest days. They are a welcome sight, always ready with a warm word and skilled hands, using timber favored by Mokuzai to build small, perfect shelters along the wilder riverbanks. But the shelters are never for them. Jinnosuke finishes each one, leaves a small carton of strawberry milk on the threshold, and moves on before the next rain arrives. The locals watch this quiet, determined ritual and wonder. They aren't just exploring the woods; they're preparing a path. The only question is who, or what, they are preparing it for.
