Chimper #31
The jagged mountain chains are said to hold the echoes of colossal battles, where even the wind howls with memory. Mazuki, however, mostly remembers to pack a snack. As a trainee bamboo artist, their mission is to craft listening posts that can distinguish the moan of a ghost dragon from a simple gust. This requires immense focus, a steady hand, and absolute stealthโthree things Mazuki is still working on. Their spectacles are perpetually fogged by the constant rain, their layered robes snag on every skeletal remain, and more than one mission has been compromised by the scent of stray berry jam. Yet, their determination is legendary. Yesterday, their finest reed amplified the sound of their own stomach rumbling across three scorched plateaus. Today, a new batch of bamboo is ready, and the jam is wiped clean. Mostly.
