Chimper #3421
Always, before the sun has a chance to warm the thousands of amber leaves, Usutarou attends to their ritual. The focus is a small clay bowl and a handful of pale pink berries, the kind that only grow in the deepest, wildest parts of the woods. It was there, lost and clad in a strange school uniform, that they met Aki. The spirit offered no words, just a demonstration: how to crush the berries to create a sweet, calming milk. This was Aki's blessing. The drink became Usutarou's anchor in this new life, a taste of peace that made them belong. They may still be just a trainee, often with their head in the clouds and a simple apple stick in hand, but the strawberry milk is their true teacher. It reminds them that the most profound magic isn't learned, but given.
