Chimper #3902
Sunaho prodded the last apple on the lowest branch with their stick, squinting. It was too red, its skin too perfectly taut. A suspicious apple, certainly. Probably plotting to be bruised the moment a customer paid. Just then, Anago barreled past, snatching the offending fruit from the tree and taking a huge bite. Sunaho's suspicion instantly curdled into panic. They rushed over, grabbing Anago’s chin to inspect for any sign of dark magic or trickster spirit mischief. Finding only a delighted smile, they let out a breath. They had found Anago alone in the wilder parts of The Heart of the Forest years ago and had seen enough to trust nothing completely. Anago offered them the half-eaten apple. Sunaho shook their head. Anago just laughed, juice dripping down their chin, and Sunaho decided that was one less suspicious thing to worry about selling.
