Chimper #4385
Chuusaburou remembered the weight of a perfectly balanced bamboo carving knife, the steam from their tea fogging the workshop window. That was before the misunderstanding. It began with a simple order for a rare strain of resonant bamboo, guaranteed to produce the most harmonious wind chimes. The merchantโs note said "patron verification required at source." Chuusaburou, a noble of refined taste, assumed a sample would be sent. Instead, a grim-faced courier arrived to escort them. Too proud to admit confusion, Chuusaburou donned their finest feather cape for what they believed was a short trip. They were left in The Dragon Wastelands, the courier gesturing vaguely at the howling canyons before departing. They have been here since, clutching their bamboo batch, certain this is an elaborate, tasteless test of their artistic resolve.
