Kikutoshi

The polished platinum plating of the Nexus Suit is meant to reflect danger, but mostly it just shows Kikutoshi their own permanently surprised expression. Their guardian, Niiyo, insists the suit is essential after 'the incident on the mountain pass'—an event Kikutoshi has no memory of, save for waking up encased in technology. Life in The Great Panda City is now a series of gentle, suffocating conveniences. The suit's auto-balance prevents them from tripping, its nutritional dispenser overrides their choice of snacks, and its proximity sensors buzz when anyone gets too close. Niiyo fusses over its power cells, believing it's the only thing keeping their ward safe. Kikutoshi just wants to feel the cold wind on their fur. Sometimes they'll stand perfectly still, pretending the suit has lost power, just for the moment of panicked contact when Niiyo rushes to their side.
