Kunika returned from that journey with the same cane but entirely new eyes, forever wide with wonder at the cosmos they’d glimpsed. The playful fish bait they now wear on their head is a private joke about a much bigger catch. The locals saw the change, the shift from quiet wisdom to joyful awe, and gave them a new name.
