Shiomi

The crisp air of The Crystal Highlands of Armaria always smelled of charged static and wet stone. Before arriving, the only thing Shiomi knew was the feeling of swimming against the current. They were an oddity, a river-child far from any river, and their perpetually shocked expression mirrored how they felt about a world that had no place for them. Then Shokei-moji found them, not seeing a lost soul but an expert navigator who had weathered a long, hard journey upstream. They offered Shiomi a home among others who had been cast out. These days, Shiomi is the community’s most cherished messenger, their intense focus guiding them through winding crystal paths. Their journey was difficult, but it brought them exactly where they were always meant to be.
